The Natural Communities of South Carolina: Initial Classification and Description

This is the first edition of The Natural Communities of South Carolina, developed in 1986; a new edition is in the works. The Natural Communities of South Carolina was a product of the SC Wildlife and Marine Resources Department, now part of SC Department of Natural Resources. The communities are grouped by land form: terrestrial, marine, estuarine, palustrine. Julie Holling and Kathy Boyle of SCDNR were responsible for the conversion from the 1986 print version to this PDF.
